Debbie Schlussel, on her website, debbieschlussel.com, has a breaking story about Barack Obama’s Selective Service record and how it may be fraudulent. Here are some exerpts from the article dated November 13, 2008:

It’s either one or the other, as indicated by the release of Barack Obama’s official Selective Service registration for the draft. A friend of mine, who is a retired federal agent, spent almost a year trying to obtain this document through a Freedom of Information Act request, and, after much stonewalling, finally received it and released it to me.
But the release of Obama’s draft registration and an accompanying document, posted below, raises more questions than it answers. And it shows many signs of fraud, not to mention putting the lie to Obama’s claim that he registered for the draft in June 1979, before it was required by law.”
“The official campaign for President may be over. But Barack Obama’s Selective Service registration card and accompanying documents show that questions about him are not only NOT over, but if the signature on the document is in fact his, our next Commander-in-Chief may have committed a federal crime in 2008, well within the statute of limitations on the matter. If it is not his, then it’s proof positive that our next Commander-in-Chief never registered with the Selective Service as required by law. By law, he was required to register and was legally able to do so until the age of 26.
But the Selective Service System registration (“SSS Form 1”) and accompanying computer print-out (“SSS Print-out), below, released by the Selective Service show the following oddities and irregularities, all of which indicate the document was created in 2008 and backdated:”

Barack Obama’s Selective Service Lie

According to MSNBC.com, Barack Obama stated that he had thought about joining the military in 1979 after graduating high school, despite never mentioning it either of his books.
Obama disclosed that he had once considered serving in the military.
“You know, I actually did,” Obama said. “I had to sign up for Selective Service when I graduated from high school. And I was growing up in Hawaii. And I have friends whose parents were in the military. There are a lot of Army, military bases there.
“And I actually always thought of the military as an ennobling and, you know, honorable option. But keep in mind that I graduated in 1979. The Vietnam War had come to an end. We weren’t engaged in an active military conflict at that point. And so, it’s not an option that I ever decided to pursue.”
Oops there is a little problem. The Selective Service was not in effect in 1979. It had been suspended.
On March 25, 1975, Pres. Gerald Ford signed Proclamation 4360, Terminating Registration Procedures Under Military Selective Service Act, eliminating the registration requirement for all 18-25 year old male citizens. Then on July 2, 1980, President Jimmy Carter signed Proclamation 4771, Registration Under the Military Selective Service Act, retroactively re-establishing the Selective Service registration requirement for all 18-26 year old male citizens born on or after January 1, 1960. Only men born between March 29, 1957, and December 31, 1959, were completely exempt from Selective Service registration.[2] The first registrations after Proclamation 4771 took place on Monday, July 21, 1980, for those men born in January, February and March 1960 at U.S. Post Offices. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays were reserved for men born in the later quarters of the year, and registration for men born in 1961 began the following week [3].
So Barack Obama did not register for the selective service in 1979 because it didn’t exist!!!

Regardless, what follows is a pretty obvious “misstatement” that would not possibly be ignored if it were uttered by a conservative or a Republican.
In his hilariously titled post (“Mighta Joined If He Coulda Capped Some Cong”) on Barack Obama’s interview in a barn this morning (not kidding) on This Week with George Stephanopoulos, fellow NewsBuster Mark Finkelstein reported on Obama’s answer to a viewer’s question about whether he ever considered military service. You can read Mark’s post for his overall thoughts, but I want to focus on something the Illinois senator said that several commenters at the post took exception to (photo courtesy DayLife):
You know, I had to sign up for Selective Service when I graduated from high school. …. But keep in mind: I graduated in 1979.
There are only two “little” problems:
1. Selective Service Registration was not possible in 1979.
2. Bob Owens at Pajamas Media noted that Obama registered with the Selective Service with an effective date of September 4, 1980.
The Wikipedia entry on Obama’s early life agrees with the candidate’s memory of when he graduated (other verification will be obtained after this post goes up):
Obama returned to Honolulu to live with his maternal grandparents while attending Punahou School, a private college preparatory school, from the fifth grade until his graduation in 1979.
Wiki’s Selective Service entry says the following about the registration requirements at the time:

Obama could not have registered “when I graduated from high school,” as he claimed.
He actually registered roughly 45 days after the first post-Proclamation 4771 registrations took place in 1980.
Obama’s statement, that “I had to sign up for Selective Service when I graduated from high school,” is inarguably false.
Further, the correct timeline casts serious doubt on what Obama said between the ellipsed segments of the first excerpt above:
And I was growing up in Hawaii, and I had friend whose parents were in the military, there were a lot of Army, military bases there. And I always actually thought of the military as some ennobling and honorable option.
More likely: He signed up when he did because he had to. Nothing more, nothing less.
This would appear to be yet another example of resume enhancement.

One of the things that bothers me about this man is that he is still refered to as an african american. He’s not even proud enough to drop the african part. Evidently just being a plain american isn’t enough
Verifying info on form… Reverse telephone shows up as grandmother: ML Dunham (808) 949-2317 1617 S Beretania St, Honolulu, HI 96826 . Building was built on 09/12/1964. Is there anyway to verify if the telephone number was attached to Barry’s grandmother back in 1980? I know it happens, but 28 years is a LONG time to have the same telephone number… especially when your grandson was running for President of the US…
It is not clear that anything is wrong. They nay have had to add one more digit , so an ‘8’ had to be added in front of the original nunber.

A friend told me she researched how to determine one’s racial origin based on the US Census Bureau. I don’t know all the details, I’m sure some one here can find this on the net, but she said that it says if you are of “mixed” race then the Census Bureau lists you based on your Mother’s race. hhmmm?
The registration form above has simply been photoshopped to remove the leading number 8 from the DLN. Just download the photo and do a few “sharpen” operations to bring out the background. I used Irfanview. It’s clear the background has been whited out removing the leading number, before the blue “A” was added just above where the initial small number 8 once was. Now there is no disagreement between the registration form and the computer record if the original registration form was shown.
This was a deliberate hoax. Wonder who did it?

Note the removal, in rectangular blocks, of much of the open areas on this form. Why was this done? Because then there would be no contrast to reveal the removal of the number 8 from the DLN. A careful job of deception, but not professional enough to avoid detection. You can still wonder about the other small oddities like the stamp, but the main case, that this registration form copy was faked in 2008 is not true. It was produced in 1980, just like it says. Sorry Obama haters.

The is a retired FBI officer who has the documents and he has stated his name. I dont think he would smear his name on a hoax. They have the documents as was mailed to them per the FOIA
Also you cannot explain how he got a SSN number ending in 1 which is region 1 Chicago by giving a address in Hawaii which is region 3 Denver CO
There is still the matter of the Old (Prior to 1971) USPO Stamp. After 1971 all post offices switched to USPS. And there is also the missing 19 in the 1980 stamp. The 8 is clearly upside down and the 80 is a different font that 29 JUL Font. Added to the fact that is was stamped by the post office 1 day prior to his signature. When I registered in 1980 , the form given to me was blank and the stamp was added after I turned it in. I Also had to show my driver’s license. This is still clearly a fake document. 10 Years in federal lock up if he actually signed it for falsifying a federal document. If he didn’t sign it, failing to sign for selective service disqualifies him for being president.

If anyone thinks Debbie Schlussel or the agent doctored up the Selective Service form, all they have to do is send their own Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to the Selective Service and they will get the same documents.
Go to http://www.sss.gov and clink on the FOIA link.
Then buy a stamp. That is all it will cost you.
Or you can go around to different websites trying to discredit others.
When I was in the Reserves, from 82 to 86, my unit had to re-register with the Selective Service, because a fire destroyed its records. Back in the mid 90’s my friend, who registered back in 83, was barred from a Border Patrol job because he was told he never registered. I applied for the same job and there was only one record of my registration.
So if my registration was destroyed, and Mike’s registration was destroyed, how did Barry get so lucky?
