The mainstream media is still not covering Acorn corruption, voter fraud, ties to Obama and recently is ignoring the shocking videos reported on Fox News. Extensive research was done on Acorn many years ago for the Catholic Bishops and real journalists such as Michelle Malkin and Larry Johnson pioneered revealing Obama’s ties to Acorn. Auxiliary Bishop Roger Morin of New Orleans, chairman of the US bishops’ Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) committee, announced yesterday that the campaign would no longer fund the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).”
Bishop Roger Morin memorandum:
“Last June, CCHD cut off funding of grants to ACORN (Association of Community
Organizations for Reform Now) groups because of questions that had arisen about financial
management, fiscal transparency and organizational accountability of the national ACORN
structures.”
“Recent widespread reports of alleged ACORN involvement in voter registration
controversies and allegations of fraud raise additional serious concerns.”
“The current halt of ACORN funding means that no CCHD funds are
involved in any of these activities. Nonetheless, the suspension of all ACORN funding will not

During her workshop: “School Reform Sweeping the Nation,” Ms. Anderson identified the reform model which NY-ACORN schools are emulating as the Debbie Meier experimental public school model (the Networks for School Renewal).”
“Academically, the Debbie Meier educational model includes substantive restructuring. Standardized testing is eliminated: “For instance, to put the sort of intense emphasis on standardized testing…meant, in practice, the gearing of curricula specifically to prepare students to pass narrowly focused tests-with little attention to the broader array of skills and critical capacities essential in a real world environment…In contrast…an alternative began to emerge.” Parents and educators must be re-educated to accept this restructuring: “But for democratic school approaches [such as the Deborah Meier model] to work necessitated not only changes in the formal structure of education but also effective, skillful training and some clear public commitment to an alternative understanding of educational purposes themselves.” These “educational purposes” can facilitate the training of new community organizers. In ACORN’s New Visions School in New York, Local 1199 School for Social Change, “…students analyze public health issues, the organization of community groups, the development of public policy and the international labor movement. Students are involved in hands-on activities in order to relate classroom learning to community service. These activities range from participation in labor and community organization movements to service as interns at local health care facilities.””
“The Catholic Bishops of the United States ought to reconsider the structure, funding, and activities of the Campaign for Human Development.

JJ, you are correct. Safety (police, fire) and health have traditionally been the responsibility of the states under the 10th amendment and state constitutions. One of the (many) reasons people do not like the health care bills currently in Congress is because they are tired of the interstate commerce clause being used to justify legislation that really has nothing to do with regulating commerce between the states. If the people in this country really want the federal government to be in charge of health care, then let’s do something really “zany” and amend the constitution to give the federal government that power. A more appropriate use of the interstate commerce clause power would be to remove the government restrictions that prohibit selling health insurance policies across lines. True competition between insurance companies would bring some of the costs of health insurance down.

I guess I got it too close to home when I earlier stated that the current health care scheme would require revamping medical education into a social engineering institution.
The tradition of medical training rests on young doctors to utilize the wisdom of traditional teachings, to modify this knowledge with innovative thinking and most importantly to have the wisdom to know the difference.
It requires the rigor of disciplined learning with the spirit of creative innovation over the course of a lifetime.
Not a chance that anybody with those abilities would subject themselves to self-destructive and destructive indoctrination.
Indoctrination by the way means accepting doctrines uncritically. The essence of medical training, without which one cannot serve the public, hinges on critical thinking.
Any doctor prepared to be “indoctrinated” will not be a doctor by any measure that the U.S. has thus witnessed.

Just catching up after trying to keep posted at work (tough!).
I think with Orly it’s a ‘he said/she said’ situation and we may never know what went on between Orly and Larry.
Regarding the ‘expedited discovery’ I can find nothing that states that Judge Carter ordered this. The only court date I know of is 10/5 for the scheduling conference. Now, Judge Carter has *suggested* that the parties start discovery before that; it was not a court order, rather, voluntary.
I’m also reading that a ‘conference of parties’ must be held at least 21 days prior to the scheduling conference. This conference would’ve had to have been held by by September 14. I don’t know if this was done. The report from that meeting is to be submitted to the court no later than 14 days prior to 10/5.
If this conference of parties was not accomplished, I smell trouble…
I may be wrong about this, and someone please correct me if I am, but it’s what I’m gathering-it’s all very hard to try to follow. I do know that she’s trying to have Gary Kreep thrown off the case…

Valerie Jarrett, a close adviser to Barack Obama, stands at the center of Chicago’s controversial efforts to redevelop public housing.
Jarrett has pushed to integrate new developments by limiting the number of residents, mostly poor and black, who can live in the new communities. From the beginning, that stance clashed with efforts by residents and housing advocates to ensure the number of units set aside for the poor was as large as possible.
I wonder how much Obama and Valerie skimmed off the top so not one cent could make it to these poor people. I hope they testify against those two.

Over the weekend the White House announced the Census Department is severing all ties with ACORN, the discredited organization that is under investigation for voter fraud in 14 states and recently the subject of a media sting by Andrew Breitbart’s Big Government blog and reported by Glenn Beck. Additionally The Senate has voted to drop all funding to ACORN from the Transportation Appropriations bill. All but 6 Democrats and one Republican supported the measure.
It all seems too good to be true. And when it comes to Democrats reaching across the aisle, it probably is. You have to understand ACORN is where President Obama got his start. He defended them in court. He is tied to the hip to them. They have been the recipients of mega dollars of government largesse, courtesy of Democrats. It is simply out of character for them to cave so easily.
The dirty little secret is ACORN is changing its name. In a June 21 Washington Examiner interview with Marcel Reid, a dissident ACORN whistle blower, the name is being changed to Community Organizations International.
“We’ve known for many months now that the name ACORN is going to be retired,” [Marcel] Reid said. “The name has been so damaged to the point where the leadership knows it simply can’t go on as it has with the ACORN label out front and center, especially after all of the reporting.”
In fact, the process has already begun, she noted. Wade Rathke, who founded the organization, announced on his blog that ACORN International has officially changed its name to “Community Organizations International.”
So all the posturing by the White House and Senate Democrats is a sham. Republicans, make sure you add the term “and successor organizations” to any restrictions against ACORN.

What I do think, however, is there’s enough reasonable doubt regarding Barky’s NBC status to somehow mandate him to produce his documents.
Let’s go back a few months-most the citizenry wasn’t aware of this controversy; they are now. I don’t think this will die until he either shows the documents on his own, or is forced to do so.

I agree with you. I am willing to let this thing play itself out, because I do not believe that L. Smith’s Kenyan BC is legit.
There are several important flaws (including the dimensions of the paper it is printed on), for me believe that it for real. If that is the case, then L. Smith will quickly look to escape.
However, with respect to Orly Taitz, I believe that both Wiley Drake and Markham Robinson are straight shooters, and if they have confidence in Gary Kreep, then I feel I can too.

ACORN is a huge organization with thousands of offices. So far all that he has showed is that there are several bad apples in several offices. The same can generally be said of any large organization.

One doesn’t have to do a huge taping event at every office of Acorn because that would prove to be wasteful. However, keep this in mind too, we’re dealing with the liberal mind-set and many of them hold no morals. It’s just the way that it is. This is the way that they think. The libs just don’t have the morals. It doesn’t mean that all will go out and murder someone, but it does mean that they have an “anything goes” attitude. That type of mind-set gives people the freedom to think that they can literally do anything that they want to do. It’s because they don’t really understand what freedom means in our constitution, and honestly, they don’t give a crap. Freedom meant not to go out and hurt others or to be constantly offending others, but it means freedom from tyranny and oppression, and then freedom of religion. And to top it off with “freedom” in the religion sense, that means freedom from sin, meaning to not practice sins. They take it opposite and think that freedom means that it’s okay to commit sins.
Well one thing that’s true is that Orly already has Lucas by the acorns, if you know what I mean. He has to stand by his affidavit, and she already has his version of the BC.
Carlyle-I think the objective is to get them away from all government money due to corruption. I think it is systemic, not just a couple of rogue departments. These people were just too comfortable in the wonderful world of crime, too relaxed, too knowledgeable. Would you trust them with your money? It is your money you know in the form of taxes.

I’m personally not going to “accuse” Orly of anything nor Lucas Smith. Who is the grand accuser anyway? I don’t want to have that role.

A number 1 reason is no accountablity anymore to god or man. So honesty is thrown out. In the time of noah god allowed 8 people to live only. Why because the whole world was corrupt and evil in his sight. Wow! Only 8 shows how serious god is about obeying his laws and making him number 1. America must repent and turn back to god or it will be destroyed.
Dr. Taitz has been vilified by her counterparts as incompetent, criticized for filing improperly, and attacked by those who want her to fail. And yet, she gets up every morning to begin the fight anew, travels back and forth across the country, and tries to keep her supporters informed. Whether or not Lucas Smith is telling the truth about how he obtained his documents or whether or not his document is real, are moot points. The forensic experts will eventually validate or invalidate his presentment. He has signed an affidavit to attest to his truthfulness and could be punished severely for lying. With all the fake documents that have surfaced, it is no wonder we are all skeptical anything will ever come of it. Everyone who has already filed a lawsuit and failed, along with those who are currently working on new litigation and new angles to expose what we already know to be true, is motivated by uncovering the truth and wants to accomplish the same thing…to remove the usurper from office.
So let’s re-group. Let’s ask the right questions and not question our questions. Let’s list the facts we know to be true, drop the points that make no sense, and remain focused on our goal. After all, the truth will set us free!

Gary Kreep evidently does not believe in the Law of Nations as defining natural born citizen, that reference work of the framers, and feels anybody born here is natural born. I disagree and can see why Orly would not want to work with him. He cannot be trusted, either, as he has pulled clients away. He is making his own definition and Berg seems to have this approach, so they are working together against Orly, instead of being men, and working together in their own case. Very odd. If they have a different approach, they should file their case separately and not harrass Orly. But since she got her case into course, they try to take over and pull it away from like dogs after meat. Real bullies. Orly has great people as plaintiffs. She never made claims that the Lucas was authentic. She is submitting it for authentication, and at this point it is as “authentic” as Obama’s electronic document said to be forged. Obama can solve this real easy, but of course does not. This game of birth certificates is not why Orly went to court and her case does not rely on Lucas. Things are heating up. Pray for Orly. Pray for Judge Carter. Pray for America.
Let me clarify my comment about Glenn Beck and Acorn.
1st, I hate Acorn. Even their legitimate charter represents a lot of what I think is wrong with America. They do not represent or promote any America I know and love. I don’t want one penny of my tax money going to them for ANYTHING. Anything Glenn Beck does to shut them down is much needed and much appreciated.
2nd, I know ACORN is responsible for much fraud and election manipulation.
3rd, I believe Obama is aligned with and embedded with ACORN to a deeper level (including all the criminal activities) than even WE realize. But I think that is very hard to prove in a court of law.
4th, It would take a special prosecutor and YEARS if not DECADES to use this as an avenue to out Obama.
My point is that we need to keep our eye on the ball. Getting rid of ACORN is good for a lot of reasons, but I don’t see that being a fruitful avenue to Obama.
ticktock-I’m the oldest of a big family, and have nieces and nephews. I always encourage the little ones that they can tell me anything that is disturbing them. Victim children of molestation take great pains to hide it, they are now training teachers for certain patterns of behavior to be aware of-certain body language but the children have to questioned carefully. Can you imagine that little girl kidnapped at 11 and the poor little thing living like that for 18 years? That man stole and ruined her entire childhood.

I hope you’re right, but the difficulty as I see it is the incessant rigging that goes on with elections. Fraud has always existed, but not to the level witnessed with the last few elections, and most strongly with this last.
I have said this before. I genuinely feel that if the will of the majority had been observed with this last election, first Hillary would have gotten the primary. Having failed that McCain would have won.

Your’re right, except I have to still wonder how the economy tanked. As far as I have read, there has not been a convincing argument for the crash, not for it’s appearance because a correction was expected from everyone, but more specifically for it’s exquisite timing and for its magnitude. McCain was beginning to soar just before Sept. 13, 2008.
Also I recall a public revelation by Bill Clinton who witnessed Obama’s handling of this so called crisis where Obama literally turned to the committee on the Hill, and said (not an exact quote) “tell me what to say to the people, and I will fashion it so that it’s convincing” or something to that effect. Clinton shook his head in utter dismay at this man’s ignorance of economic principles.

Hey all–chill!
I’ve been away a few hours only to return to this back and forth. I thought something really big happened. Maybe the obots hacked Larry’s site. Maybe the obots hacked Lucas’ site. Remember how some have tried to go on to Orly’s site and came up against obot warnings? Maybe whatever.
Stay the course, focus on the important stuff or divide and conquer will be what happens to us.
You always know when you’ve come up against evil…it’s when you meet resistance in doing the right thing. God is truth. And, truth will win
out, no matter what. We are meeting resistance from evil. We can’t fight that kind of thing on our own…but nothing is impossible for God. Trust in him and lean not on your understanding. We need to do our part and leave the final victory to him. He’s knows what he is about.

He turned on his heels (I still wonder what transfixed him, though I have an idea) and threw his weight of support to dear old Barry. From then on, Hillary really didn’t have a chance given the magnitude of money involved.
So it’s not just the overt fraudulence, but the massive coercion on an organized level that determined Barack’s position. He never really earned it (as much as anyone can), like he’s never worked in the trenches for many of his so-called promotions.

Like you, I’ve been aware of Soros since 2007; the readings say he weighed the chances…….a black man, unknown, or a woman, with baggage (Bill)…….he was advised to go with the black man.

Public letter to conservatives who have speculated as to Dr. Orly Taitz’s qualifications and legal expertise:
As a viewer of the Internet news, rumor, and commentary concerning Obama’s eligibility, consider the following points and questions concerning Dr. Taitz :
1. Bravery vs. Cowardice- Except for a few, America’s ruling class, including attorneys, have run from the issue of Obama’s eligibility. A few attorneys have filed a couple lawsuits but always with one eye on the current public perception of so-called “birthers.” As an American, I have become rather disgusted with the cowardice of these attorneys who make half-hearted attempts-not to mention the cowardice of the media. It is somewhat understandable that these attorneys would not invite the Cat 6 hurricane of attack by getting involved in the eligibility issue. However, one attorney, Dr. Taitz has shown true American courage in the face of intense opposition and has never stopped her tireless efforts- which has probably come at great cost to her and her three sons.
2. Competence vs. Buffoonery- In light of the fact that Orly, an immigrant, has stepped us to plate when no other American attorney truly has, made great sacrifices, and has opened herself to attack, I make the following points;
a. Does anyone think any American faults her for making English spelling errors or any judge for that matter? Or is she admired her for being able to achieve and accomplish so much in her relatively short time in America?
b. Since we are talking here about who has the best chance of winning these court cases, answer this question: Does anyone really believe that an attorney that is better at dotting I’s and crossing T’s or perfect in the nuances of American courtroom protocol will have their court case heard and not thrown out by today’s brave judiciary? Or might it just be possible that any judge brave enough to even consider hearing an Obama “natural born” case in the first place, may respond better to a highly intelligent, conscientiously motivated attorney?
c. Many of Orly’s pundits cannot see straight because of their own fears that someone could mess up everyone’s chances at seeing Obama’s birth certificate. I remind everyone that this is Orly’s chance- she earned it, she inspired the people, and many educated military personnel have chosen her for their attorney. Are all these plantiffs morons or might they just be a little smarter than those of us speculating from a distance? This speaks volumes for her competence.
d. So who is truly competent and who is the buffoon? The intelligent, educated, and passionate defender of the Constitution or some nameless, good spelling, procedural master of litigation (who some seem to be watering at the mouth for)? Remember, we have come to this point in litigation for a reason- because this woman has done what American attorneys have not- from timidity, or negligence, or just plain failure, or other. Some people really need to rethink their definitions of competence in light of what is really needed for victory in our courts.
3. Money & Fame vs. Conscience- The Power of Motives – Does anyone think Orly is in this for fame or fortune? She could have taken the easy route, lived very comfortably in her successful careers and enjoyed her time with her three sons – but her family has sacrificed everything for this great country that once chose freedom over tyranny while giving honor to the Creator. Don’t underestimate the appeal of these factors to honorable judges (we don’t have any chances with dishonorable ones anyway). These other attorneys are a dime a dozen and everyone, including judges, will believe they are in it for the money and fame. Orly has the most compelling reason for involvement (because of her background with Communism and corruption and her fresh enthusiasm, akin to our founders, for our country and constitution). This should carry a multitude of weight in making judgments about who is most qualified to bring successful litigation.
Let this attorney do what she is so well equipped for and may other attorneys swallow their egos, forget their fear, and offer their services and expertise pro-bono… leave her at the helm.
This is just silly: tax court rules that prostitutes and pornography cannot be deducted as medical expenses on federal income tax returns. Did this really need a ruling from a court??!! LOL!

twe-Austria and Germany that is where my grandparents on my mother’s side are from. Never met them, they died before my Mom got married to my father. Hope you liked it there, I like German pastries, but I could never think about eating the food. Hassenpfeffer forget it.
Michelle–We used to raise little hassens when I was little. They are yummy–seriously, just like chicken but leaner. Just don’t pet them first. Spargel (white asparagus) is to die for. They make whole meals out of it. And, the wine is the best and still, my favorite. Pastries good and creamy but not as sweet as over here. Beautiful countries Austria and Germany. Great skiing, too!

“My Mom had been taking the full-stalk canned style asparagus that she pureed and she took 4 tablespoons in the morning and 4 tablespoons later in the day. She did this for over a month. She is on chemo pills for Stage 3 lung cancer in the pleural area and her cancer cell count went from 386 down to 125 as of this past week. Her oncologist said she does not need to see him for 3 months.”

Several years ago, I had a man seeking asparagus for a friend who had cancer. He gave me a photocopied copy of an article, entitled, ‘Asparagus for cancer’ printed in Cancer News Journal.
I will share it here, just as it was shared with me: ‘I am a biochemist, and have specialized in the relation of diet to health for over 50 years..Several years ago, I learned of the discovery of Richard R.. Vensal, D.D.S. That asparagus might cure cancer.
Since then, I have worked with him on his project. We have accumulated a number of favorable case histories.
Here are a few examples:
Case No. 1, A man with an almost hopeless case of Hodgkin’s disease (cancer of the lymph glands) who was completely incapacitated. Within 1 year of starting the asparagus therapy, his doctors were unable to detect any signs of cancer, and he was back on a schedule of strenuous exercise.
Case No. 2, A successful businessman 68 years old who suffered from cancer of the bladder for 16 years. After years of medical treatments, including radiation without improvement, he went on asparagus. Within 3 months, examinations revealed that his bladder tumor had disappeared and that his kidneys were normal.
Case No. 3, A man who had lung cancer. On March 5th, he was put on the operating table where they found lung cancer so widely spread that it was inoperable. The surgeon sewed him up and declared his case hopeless. On April 5th he heard about the asparagus therapy and immediately started taking it. By August, x-ray pictures revealed that all signs of the cancer had disappeared. He is back at his regular business routine.
Case No. 4, A woman who was troubled for a number of years with skin cancer. She finally developed different skin cancers which were diagnosed by asking specialist as advanced…. Within 3 months after starting on asparagus, her skin specialist said that her skin looked fine and no more skin lesions. This woman reported that the asparagus therapy also cured her kidney disease, which started in 1949. She had over 10 operations for kidney stones, and was receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal, kidney condition. She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus.
I was not surprised at this result, as `The elements of materia medica’, edited in 1854 by a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, stated that asparagus was used as a popular
Remedy for kidney stones. He even referred to experiments, in 1739, on the power of asparagus in dissolving stones.
We would have other case histories but the medical establishment has interfered with our obtaining some of the records. I am therefore appealing to readers to spread this good news and help us to gather a large number of case histories that will overwhelm the medical skeptics about this unbelievably simple and natural remedy.
For the treatment, asparagus should be cooked before using, and therefore canned asparagus is just as good as fresh. I have corresponded with the two leading canners of asparagus, Giant and Stokely, and I am satisfied that these brands contain no pesticides or preservatives.
Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to make a puree, and store in the refrigerator. Give the patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and evening.
Patients usually show some improvement in from 2-4 weeks. It can be diluted with water and used as a cold or hot drink. This suggested dosage is based on present experience, but certainly larger amounts can do no harm and may be needed in some cases.
As a biochemist I am convinced of the old saying that ‘what cures can prevent’. Based on this theory, my wife and I have been using asparagus puree as a beverage with our meals.
We take 2 tablespoons diluted in water to suit our taste with breakfast and with dinner. I take mine hot and my wife prefers hers cold. For years we have made it a practice to have blood surveys taken as part of our regular checkups.
The last blood survey, taken by a medical doctor who specializes in the nutritional approach to health, showed substantial improvements in all categories over the last one, and we can attribute these improvements to nothing but the asparagus drink…
As a biochemist, I have made an extensive study of all aspects of cancer, and all of the proposed cures. As a result, I am convinced that asparagus fits in better with the latest theories about cancer. Asparagus contains a good supply of protein called histones, which are believed to be active in controlling cell growth. For that reason, I believe asparagus can be said to contain a substance that I call cell growth normalizer. That accounts for its action on cancer and in acting as a general body tonic.
In any event, regardless of theory, asparagus used as we suggest, is a harmless substance. The FDA cannot prevent you from using it and it may do you much good.
It has been reported by the US National Cancer Institute, that asparagus is the highest tested food containing glutathione, which is considered one of the body’s most potent anticarcinogens and antioxidants.

I felt a need to chime in. I have seen and hear people refer to these Acorn tapes as bad apples. However, if we look at the scummiest of the scum in our world, these folks on the tapes have exactly the same principles. A bad apple to me would be an Acorn adviser maybe doctoring the income level of a participant of the program to secure a loan. The magnitude of these apples are excrement of the foulest creature. I believe for the everyday person to find this scum in a position subsidized by the government, would be hard. Many would say “come on there are plenty of bad apples”, yes i agree. But this kind of bad apple is not doing this kind of work, let alone so many in one organization. These filmmakers threw a stone in the air blindfolded and hit many windows at once, hardly coincidental.
As for Lucas Smith, he signed an affidavit, its a done deal. I have no idea where this diversion is coming from, what is important is how the Judge sees the paperwork. As for Orly i think she is justifiably paranoid, and doesn’t want to blow her chances. If she does blow her chances then she would do so on her own terms. I think she is promoting a optimistic viewpoint in her videos sometimes which can be seen as a little to in the bag as they say. She is taking the risk so leave her be. I believe the closer she gets the likelihood she will attract trouble disguised as help. It seems to me she will only feel comfortable with those who have been there since she started. With her schedule as full as it is, she has little time to micro manage, so she must keep all help which are familiar people and be weary of the pile on crowd.

And why do I call her a non sequitur appointee? Well, a non sequitur is a logical fallacy and that’s what this appointment is. Why the hell would you appoint as your healty policy czar who will focus on rooting out Medicare’s waste, fraud, and abuse the woman who ran Medicare for Bill Clinton and utterly and completely failed to root out waste, fraud, and abuse?
That’s right – Nancy-Ann DeParle was in charge of Medicare during the Clinton Administration and left office having little to show for ridding the system of waste, fraud, and abuse.

I know people are wishing Larry Sinclair well with his new book. May I suggest that someone ask him to consider putting his book in a Kindle version? A lot of people are going to Kindle or other electronic ebook readers and he might get even more readership if he does that too. Just a thought.

I have a dream today too. A little OT: ‘was at a civic function last evening; which, following the sound of the gavel, opened with the call for all to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance…something I hadn’t been asked/called upon to do in some time. When we got to the part “and to the REPUBLIC, for which it stands…” I gotta tell you that I thought of this place, and you all…with a bit of a lump in my throat…and a renewed sense of pride…and the others in the room, of all different colors and faiths…with hands over their hearts…spoke it out: loudly. It was, indeed, a sweet moment.

Glenn Beck just said that one estimate has the 9/12 rally at 1.7 million people. I think he said that the University of Pennsylvania (? – not sure if I caught the name of the university correctly) has a computer program that makes an estimate based on the photos.

In the past six months, Aaron and I have talked a lot about the similarity between the rally of early 1930 and the one we’re having today.
The early 1930 rally came after the market had fallen nearly 50% in the fall of 1929. The spring rally took the market up nearly 50% again, to a level that was only about 20% below the previous peak.
That rally, of course, was also the biggest sucker’s rally in history. After the market peaked in April 1930, it crashed again, eventually ending up down 89% from the 1929 high and more than 80% from the 1930 high. The market did not reach the 1930 high again for another quarter of a century.
Our current rally came after a crash that was actually slightly more severe than the 1929 crash (53% versus 48%). It has taken the market up more than 50% from the low. Our current rally has also lasted slightly longer than the 1930 rally did.
Today’s rally, of course, may actually be the start of a great new bull market, one that will climb the “wall of worry” back toward the previous record highs. On the other hand, it may yet also be another version of what happened in 1930.
We won’t know for sure what today’s market is until we look at it with the genius of 20/20 hindsight. As yet another reminder of how similar the patterns up to this point have been, check out this excellent compilation of New York Times clippings from early 1930 put together by Dan Alpert of Westwood Capital.

My theory on the “bait and switch” of these various health care bills:
Various Democrats have demonized health insurance companies, but the end result of these health care insurance bills will end up handing more profits to health insurance companies.
Follow with me here: none of these bills opens up competition between states by allowing companies to sell health insurance policies across state lines (remember California small business owner Catherine Bragg), so their semi-monopolies on health care insurance markets in individual states remains intact.
Also, the federal government will mandate that everyone must get “acceptable” health insurance. Fail to do so and you have to pay a hefty penalty to the IRS. Approximately 8.4 million uninsured Americans are between the ages of 18-25 and believe that they are “indestructible”. They’re young and healthy and believe that they do not need health insurance. Plus, they’d rather spend their disposable income on other things – beer money, perhaps. At any rate, the mandate to require individuals to purchase “acceptable” health insurance would add some 8.4 new customers onto the health insurance companies rolls. These new customers are young and healthy, so it’s like free money to the insurance companies at little risk.
So, publically the Democrats have been demonizing the health insurance companies, but, in reality, insurance companies will financially benefit from the bills currently under consideration in Congress.
Re-do I had that same feeling when I watched the video re: the history of the writing of The Star Spangled Banner.

Maybe the lump was in my chest…I did have my reading glasses in the left-side pocket where my hand was…no teary-eyed stuff…just the specks in my coat pocket. It was more of a sense of just ‘yeh: that’s what it is! not a ‘democracy’…a word which (I think this is right) appears nowhere in the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence. It sorta gets hammered on a bit here…siting the difference: but that’s ’cause it’s important to ‘define our terms’.

Prairie: I feel the same, but I have to say I did not have much hope or trust that Judge Land would do anything else. For me, it was all in his questioning of Rhodes and his treatment of Orly’s enthusiasm. He made everyone wait two days before he made his decision; not because he had to think it over, but just because he had already made it and had to formally pen it IMHO. The key: Rhodes had not refused any prior orders, and she was baited into the question about McCain and Bush…my indication he was up to no good in his line of questioning.

Not if the gov’t plan puts them out of business for the critics say the insurance companies, even with 8 million new subscribers, can’t compete with the fed/state-run premiums, which esssentially are subsidized with our tax dollars??
And let us not forget the Hawaii plan that put that state’s budget in a deficit…….with so many children placed on the state plan that saved money through cheaper premiums for their parents, it had to have resulted in insurance companies suffering also, as they lost clients.

Yes, the “bait and switch” I was talking about in my post is the short term effect. The long term goal, of course, is to force everyone onto government run and government paid health care. As someone who currently has health care courtesy of the United States government, I will tell you that it stinks, but I am thankful that we still have the choice (for now) to pay out of pocket or to purchase private health care insurance when the government’s so-called “health care” doesn’t meet our family’s needs.

U.S. District Court Judge Clay Land today tossed out a complaint by an Army captain fighting deployment to Iraq by questioning the legitimacy of President Barack Obama.
Land also put attorney Orly Taitz, who represents Capt. Connie Rhodes and is a leader in the national “birther” movement, on notice by stating that she could face sanctions if she ever files a similar “frivolous” lawsuit in his court.
“(Rhodes) has presented no credible evidence and has made no reliable factual allegations to support her unsubstantiated, conclusory allegations and conjecture that President Obama is ineligible to serve as president of the United States,” Land states in his order. “Instead, she uses her complaint as a platform for spouting political rhetoric, such as her claims that the president is ‘an illegal usurper, an unlawful pretender, [and] an unqualified imposter.’”

Justice Land wants SCROTUS to decide on the fate of Soetoro. He’s a coward and a bafoon. He could have ruled in favor of the Captain without discovery, and then let SCROTUS deal with it anyway. That would have protected the Captain from any potential harm until the real decision is made.
After all SCROTUS is the only one who’s going to be able to rule effectively on this matter. But alas, they won’t because they didn’t before.

I’ve been thinking about this since shortly after Barky took office (stole office, rather) and I really hate to say this but I believe it to be true:
The race card comes out with disgusting regularity these days and if it keeps up, we’re not only going to see the second revolution, but a race war, as well.
This has gone beyond ridiculous, pulling the race card whenever someone disagrees with another of color. Many posters have commented on the nauseating frequency of using race as an excuse, and peanut man Jimmah Carter (the second worst president this country ever had) had to back that up by throwing his convoluted two cents in yesterday.
It ain’t the color, you damned fools, it’s the policies!
Keep hammering the race card at every turn and there will be a revolt in proportions we’ve never seen before.
Again, hate to say this, but to me, it’s as plain as black and white. I believe that this ROTUS has set race relations in this country back to pre -1950 levels.
It’s a bloody shame.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that Obama is not eligible to be POTUS, in my opinion. Someone has to be brave enough to order discovery. If we’re all wrong, discovery will prove that. What’s wrong with ordering discovery? We’re talking about the POTUS.

Beck won’t just harp on ACORN and the czars. The word he repeats most often is “corruption”. I think he will bring up more and more corrupt associations to Obama, and the government in general, and chip away at any vestige of credibility. Nixon didn’t resign the day after the Watergate break-in. The main difference between now and then is we don’t have the media on our side, which will make it much more difficult to raise the ire of the American public.

I know that no one wants to take the time to look into this, because it’s not quick and easy, and is not a magic bullet, but it’s the only way we are going to be able to have success.
There is no Government, therefor the courts have no jurisdiction over this matter….not even the Supreme Court. The Corporation known as the United States has a different set of rules, and plays by a different book than what we’ve been led to believe all our lives.
We have been reduced to the status of slaves, and as slaves, or enemies of the state, we have no standing to sue. The courts will “NEVER” allow one of these cases to go forward, until we tackle the root of the problem.
Truth sucks, but it is what it is.

Do your homework, investigate the facts. Had you taken the time to read Dr. Taitz’s blog, you would see that when she needs help, she posts it and anyone that has time does research and sends it to her. She has many volunteers who do whatever they can to help.
The SS number that Dr. Taitz accidentally left in her blog was for one person, it was a from last year and it has been taken care of. How dare you put obstacles in the way of her time and research when she is the primary attorney on this eligibility issue working tirelessly and pro bona for over 18 months. Perhaps you should be asking Leo Denofrio to assist her. He is, after all, an expert.
Suggest you drop the smear campaign and better utilize your time by volunteering to help instead of setting out to destroy someone who is trying desperately to save our country. Did you know Dr. Taitz speaks 5 languages, is a dentist, realtor, attorney, Mother of 3 and wife of a very loving and supportive husband? Suggest you go to and read all the articles written about her work, then go to her blog and spend some time catching up.

Sue K: It may appear that is what has happened, but there are many people who still do not see race in their relationships with others. Consider the sources of this idiotic ranting! People of all race, creeds, religions, and political persuasions marched side by side in DC on 9-12. Nothing separated them from their cause, not even their signs! I do not see a race revolution in the future; I see a great number of people speaking out for what they believe is right and true and just. IMHO. Those who play the “Race Card” are showing their cards so to speak. Who wins the card game? Answer: no one. Will it strain relationships? Answer: Yes, but only among those who are racist.
