St Louis Tea Party, November 28, 2009, Thanksgiving Christmas Holiday rally, Kiener Plaza, Saint Louis MO

From the St Louis Tea Party.

“Your hard work all summer deserves some love from national celebrities and experts–from people who really know to turn on a crowd. We didn’t really go out and get these people as much as they came in and got us.

We have GIGANTIC names in

  • Hard core SUPPORT THE TROOPS
  • Brilliant analysis CAP AND TRADE DEBUNKING
  • Internationally known CORRUPTION BUSTER
  • St. Louis’s own Tea Party Line-up

So, are you READY FOR THE NAMES??????

Pat Dollard:  “Young Americans

Pat Dollard has spent a huge chunk of his adult life living in combat zones.  His documentary movie “Young Americans” premieres on Thanksgiving Day.  He’s here in St. Louis to tell the Tea Party about the men and women on the front lines of the war on terror, the dedication and terror they face, and the Hollywood left who HATE DOLLARD for LOVING WARRIORS.  In his own words:

I had about 15 employees, a wife, a daughter, and no one believed I was going to lock horns with Al Qaeda, especially because my only motivations were to keep more American civilians from dying, and to honor those who were already risking their lives for that very reason. Who does such a thing? But go I did, and like Kurtz, when I got back from the first three months, I sold the house, sold the kids, sold the car. Well, not the car. I love my H2. But I got out of the Hollywood agenting game, at a cost of about $10,000,000.00 in future income. And I had no savings. But I had to go back, to finish the work, to finish the story. There was nothing in the civilian world that provided the same sense of purpose. There was never a time when I felt like my life had much of a purpose, other than making money and indulging myself. Except for parenting. But some of us find jobs to be done that demand we not be home. I did.

Pat Dollard’s ACTIVE action teams have been INSTRUMENTAL in St. Louis’s summer of resistance.  Let’s thank Pat for his work for the troops and his work for freedom.”

  6. THE ATTACK ON SARAH PALIN MUST STOP……ALASKANS WERE FORTUNATE TO HAVE HER ………LATEST EMAIL…..

    By Dewie Whetsell, Alaskan Fisherman.

The last 45 of my 66 years I’ve spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska. I understand Alaskapolitics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here’s
the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It’s not about persona, style, rhetoric, it’s about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I’m
    about to mention here.

1- Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor’s office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican’s “Corrupt Bastards Club” (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and
wearing orange jump suits. The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing, “la la la la” (well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this
country that has ever done anything similar.

2- Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called “ACES.” Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them, “don’t let the door hit you in the stern on your way out.” They stayed, and Alaska
residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course, the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar.

3- The other thing she did when she walked into the governor’s office is she got the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as “pork.” She went through the list, took
85% of them and placed them in the “when-hell-freezes-over” stack. She let locals know that if we need something built, we’ll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the
money she got from selling the previous governor’s jet because it was extravagant. Maybe she could use the money she saved by
dismissing the governor’s cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her
State provided security force (never mentioning – I imagine – that she’s packing heat herself). I’m still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

4- Now, even with her much-ridiculed “gosh and golly” mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a
natural gas pipeline built which will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America. No one else
could do it although they tried. If that doesn’t impress you, then you’re trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

5- For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson. They made excuses the entire time why they couldn’t start drilling. In truth they were holding it like an investment. No governor for 30 years could make them get started…
This summer, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out. They protested and threatened court action. She shrugged
and reminded them that she knew the way to the court house. Alaska won again.

6- President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewables by 2025. We are already
at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona. Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look
cool. But that’s just a cover-up. I’m still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has
done in two and a half years. I won’t be holding my breath.

By the way, she was content to return to AK after the national election and go to work, but the haters wouldn’t let her. Now these adolescent screechers are obviously not scuba divers. And no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a barracuda. Without warning, it will spin around and tear
your face off. Shoulda known better.

You have just read the truth about Sarah Palin that sends the media, along with the democrat party, into a wild uncontrolled frenzy to
discredit her. I guess they are only interested in skirt chasers, dishonesty, immoral people, liars, womanizers, murderers, and bitter ex-presidents’ wives.

So “You go, Girl.” I only wish the men in Washington had your guts, determination, honesty, and morals.

    I rest my case.

    OOOh, Barracuda!!!(Emphasis mine)

Only FOOLS listen to the biased media. [Now we know why Lou Dobbs quit CNN]

The caller transcript from Rush yesterday.

….It’s absolutely unsatisfactory that President Obama — and I use that term loosely, “president” — took so much time to, quote, unquote, “debate the situation.”….

    http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_112509/content/01125107.guest.html

RUSH: To the phones! We have Eric from the Washington area. Hello, Eric, great to have you here.

CALLER: Hi, Rush. How are you?

    RUSH: Fine. Thanks much.

CALLER: Good. I just wanted to say thanks for taking my call. I’m a first-time caller, and I am currently active duty military. I’ve been in military for about eight years, and I appreciate you putting out the story about my three brothers being charged with assault. They’re not blood brothers. They’re brothers that I’ve served with. The eight years I’ve been in the military, I’ve supported Naval Special Warfare, the majority of it. I am familiar and have worked with these guys for the better part of the last year-and-a-half directly that were involved in that (garbled) Operation Amber. And it strikes me with nothing but fear as to what’s taking place. We saw it three years ago with the situation in Haditha. We’re still concerned about the rules of engagement in Iraq and Afghanistan, and everywhere else that we conduct these, quote, unquote, “overseas contingency operations.” This guy was fighting us, and the SEALs used the absolute force that they deemed necessary to subdue him, to take him into custody —

    RUSH: Right, a fat lip!

CALLER: — so he could be turned over to the Iraqis.

RUSH: A fat lip, a bloody lip for a guy who murdered four Blackwater people, hung ‘em over a bridge, and burned their bodies! Folks, if you want to see the pictures — if you want to see how horrible this incident was — Debbie Schlussel at her blog has pictures. I warn you before going and looking at them. They’re pictures of the militants celebrating the deaths and the corpses are still hanging over the bridge here, and the guy that did it was captured by these three SEALs and bloodied up a little bit. And now they’re being charged criminally! I don’t know how you guys keep doing what you do. First they charge you by reputation with rape in Haditha, and you have members of Congress joining that. They charge you and make you out to be torturers. You’re out there defending freedom and liberty. You sign up, you’re enlisted, and you are under assault by your own country! I don’t know how you do what you do.

CALLER: And that’s the other thing that absolutely irritates me with this is that it’s the operators that are being charged with assault and, you know, the officers aren’t taking the fall for it. It’s just like we saw in Abu Ghraib. The enlisted took the fall for that — and Abu Ghraib was not correct, and that’s another thing I want to make clear, and this is: You know, the alleged assault that took place was as the team was on target and preparing to capture or kill this guy, and they could have killed him but they chose to take him into custody —

    RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: — despite him fighting them.

RUSH: Eric, could you hang on? I have a commercial break. Can you hang on?

    CALLER: Yeah, Rush.

RUSH: I hope they Mirandized this guy before they punched him.
    BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: And we are back with Eric from the Washington, DC area. We had to stop you for a commercial break. You were explaining what happened at Abu Ghraib, how the officer corps somehow found a way to exempt themselves from any blame or punishment.

CALLER: Yes, exactly — and real quick, I am not a SEAL, have never have been a SEAL. I’m active duty military, and my job is to support naval special workers. I support SEALs. But I’m a public analyst; I’m not a SEAL.

    RUSH: Ah.

CALLER: But no, and that’s the thing (unintelligible). They’re going to end up taking the fall for it. I don’t think it will. I don’t think they will take the fall for it. But they didn’t do that anything wrong, and even in the officer leadership they didn’t do anything wrong.

RUSH: Wait a minute. We’re living in two different universes here. These guys are in a war! They’re on a battlefield! They are up against an enemy which has murdered four Americans, and they’re charged as criminals for punching a guy and giving him a bloody lip in the middle of a war.

CALLER: Exactly. And another thing is, you know, look at the guy that killed Mike Monsoor. He was a Medal of Honor recipient who actually went through the same survival, he was in the same survival classes I was. I had the very fortunate pleasure of knowing Mike Monsoor, and that guy is still on the streets in Iraq, and the Iraqi government’s not doing much to help us in getting him off the street. But if he is captured, be prepared for some street justice to come on that — and you know what? Things happen. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, because he killed one of our brothers. Actually, in 2007 I lost my best friend Steven Dougherty, who is the first naval intelligence professional killed since September 11th. And thankfully the guy that killed him was killed during the course of that because it was an IED on the way back. But anyway, leadership needs to step out in front of this. And right now I’m calling on Secretary Gates to stand up and get rid of this situation. And I’m calling on the commander of Naval Special Warfare Command to absolutely diffuse this because —

    RUSH: What about the commander-in-chief?

CALLER: Well, I don’t hold much faith in him, but I better watch my words on that so I don’t get charged with treason or mutiny. I’d also like to say right now… You know, you were talking a little bit about Afghanistan earlier. It’s absolutely unsatisfactory that President Obama — and I use that term loosely, “president” — took so much time to, quote, unquote, “debate the situation.” They’ve made General McChrystal — who I used to work for and very deeply admire, they made General McChrystal — the front man on this. You know, General McChrystal is not only subordinate to the president but he’s also subordinate to General Petraeus as the commander of US Central Command. Where has General Petraeus been on all this? And I’m calling on — just so that he can save face, General McChrystal should resign before he takes the blame for President Obama’s failure. And the public needs to hold President Obama accountable for what’s going on in the AfPak region and not General McChrystal.

RUSH: I have full faith that that being held to account will occur at some point down the road at the ballot box.

CALLER: I do, too, Rush. I do, too.

RUSH: Well, Eric, I’m glad you called — and I gotta tell you it’s thrilling to hear you say what you said. I could imagine the frustration people like you go through every day when you see this happen to your brothers, as you say. And watching what happened at Abu Ghraib and the stuff down at Guantanamo Bay and now the whole notion that you’re rapists, thugs and torturers is an image that has been purposefully crafted to discredit the US military and has been purposefully crafted by the Democrat Party.

CALLER: Exactly. And I can tell you right now the sentiment among us the intelligence community is that. Because not only am I, you know, in the military but I’m also an intelligence professional, and the consensus amongst the intelligence community is, “Proceed with caution because you don’t know what’s going to happen down the road, basically who’s going to see your analysis. Is it going to be made public, and are you going to be chastised for it?” So everybody’s proceeding with caution.

RUSH: Which means the United States is on defense?

CALLER: Well, everybody’s on defense right now in the Department of Defense, unfortunately — and, you know, it’s unfortunate. I wish that… You know, I was a supporter of President Bush. I didn’t agree with everything he did, but one thing’s for sure: He was a leader, and our current commander-in-chief by far lacks leadership characteristics and abilities.

RUSH: Eric, thanks for the call.

    CALLER: Thank you, Rush.

RUSH: Great to have you here, and happy Thanksgiving.

CALLER: All right, and happy Thanksgiving to you.

RUSH: You bet. That’s Eric from parts unknown in Washington, a naval intelligence officer.
    BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Greg in North Carolina, great to have you on the phone here, sir. Welcome to EIB Network.

CALLER: Hi, Mr. Limbaugh, how are you?

    RUSH: Fine, sir.

CALLER: Good. I just wanted to call and kind of give a little more insight on this SEAL team situation. I was in the teams for 20 years. I have multiple-decade military service and came in not long after Vietnam. I also worked for Blackwater for a few years in Iraq and know one of the guys that was killed at Fallujah quite well. But, anyway, the point I’m going to get at here is that I think there’s quite a bit of evidence that this is kind of a backwash from the situation of a couple months ago when the SEAL operators rescued Captain Phillips off the coast of Somalia. You may recall that situation.

    RUSH: Yes, I do.

CALLER: Well, the truth behind that situation is that the SEAL operators were kept off the scene for well over 36 hours. There was a lot of foot dragging by the commander-in-chief’s people in letting them in the theater. After they were in theater and in place they were given a very restrictive ROE: Rules Of Engagement. The ROE was so restrictive that really they couldn’t engage their targets. There were two previous opportunities to rescue Captain Phillips, and they were not allowed to take those opportunities.

RUSH: Let me stop you here because people may not know. We’re talking Somali pirates. We’re talking about the Maersk cargo ship that a bunch of Somali pirates, teenagers, took over. One of them eventually died, and the media credited Obama — honest to God, folks, the media credited Obama — with giving the order to pull the trigger. Now you may resume the story, sir.

CALLER: Okay. When they finally did engage the hostiles, they did it liberally interpreting the ROE, and the on-site commander finally was kind of fed up with the situation and gave them a weapons-free command and they were able to engage and rescue Captain Phillips. The fallout from that was immediate and rather violent in its anger. The White House people — I don’t know the president himself, I just know their representatives with the chain of command — were absolutely livid with this and they did not want the rescue to be conducted in the way that it was. You know, I cannot prove this because I would have to give names and I’m not giving names for obvious reasons. But the bottom line is that on very good, solid inside information, the national command authority past the Pentagon was not happy.

RUSH: So let me cut to the chase here. So what I think I hear you saying is the blowback that you mentioned is, this is payback for the SEALs violating the ROE on this captain of the Maersk; and this is the chain of command reasserting itself, letting everybody know who’s boss and what’s going to happen to you if you don’t follow orders?

CALLER: That is my rather experienced opinion — and, frankly, the opinion of others. I am very close to the special operations community here in North Carolina, and, you know, that opinion is surfacing. These people are very vindictive — and you have to understand, Mr. Limbaugh, you’re very pro-military, and you always say wonderful things about our people in service, and we greatly appreciate it. But I do have to say this, and I’d like to make this one point. I’ve had two sons, by the way. My two eldest sons have done multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. The military of today is not the military that fought World War II. It is not even the military that fought the first Gulf War. It is a military that has been thoroughly politicized. It is a military that is suffering the fallout of Patricia Schroeder’s ridiculous, politically correct policies that still have great power and sway in the military. And I’m just going to have to tell you: I do not mean to impugn the junior personnel in the military, the line troops, the junior officers. I’m not talking about these people. These people are doing a fine job. They’re outstanding people. But the senior ranking, the civilian and senior ranking military personnel are thoroughly indoctrinated and on board with this politically correct agenda that’s in the military.

RUSH: Yeah. I’ll tell you the most recent example of it. A glaring example was General Casey, more concerned about the “diversity” in his Army than the loss of life at Fort Hood.

CALLER: General Casey, sir, and Wesley Clark are not the exceptions in the upper echelons. They are the rule. Those are the kinds of men that are running the show and they will throw the junior personnel under the bus to save themselves every time. And that is my opinion. Again, I don’t mean to impugn any of the junior people.

RUSH: We know what you mean. We know exactly what you mean.

    CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: Everything’s been politically correctized — chickified, if you will. That’s one of the things I call it. Can you hold on for a break?

    CALLER: Certainly.

RUSH: I want you to explain to people what you meant. I think I know what you meant by the Patsy Schroeder stuff, Tailhook and all that, but I want you to explain exactly what you mean by that ’cause I’m sure you’ve got a lot of people curious.
    BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: We rejoin our call with Greg from parts unknown in North Carolina, a former member of the Navy SEAL team who has two sons who served two tours each in Iraq and Afghanistan. What was it that Pat Schroeder did when she was a member of Congress from Colorado?

CALLER: I guess the question would be: What didn’t she do? She was very influential in passing legislation and putting pressure on the military to basically and fundamentally feminize the military. I can speak most clearly about the Navy, ’cause that was my experience at the time, especially when Admiral Kelso — who was the CNO at the time — kind of completely caved in after Tailhook and started instituting things like putting females on man-o-war, having the mixed training companies in boot camp and the like. And what Patricia Schroeder did was, with a really rather small cabal of very ambitious military officers — who, by the way, violated military rules and regulations by petitioning in uniform on Capitol Hill for these changes, but nobody seemed to notice that — were able to pass a lot of regulations through the Navy and the other branches that have, frankly, incorporated women into areas of the military where, being old-fashioned, I do not believe that they belong. And this has caused numerous problems throughout the military. Beyond that, I’m not exactly sure what else you would like me to add.

RUSH: No, I thought that’s what you were talking about but I wanted people to hear you say it. Pat Schroeder was very liberal, huge feminist, and I wanted you to say the feminization. My word for it is chickification. But it’s happening throughout our culture. It’s happening throughout the media as well. And it’s turning people soft and touchy-feely and so forth. And I know what you mean: There’s no room for that on the battlefield.

CALLER: There is none. And I’m very concerned about the future of our nation’s military. Again I do not mean to minimize the dangers that our military personnel are facing in this war. However, it isn’t a full-scale, knock-down-drag-out between conventional fighting forces. I am concerned that if we ever do engage in that sort of warfare again — and I think it’s ultimately inevitable, I’m afraid — that our military is not in the place where it needs to be.

RUSH: Meaning? This is scary. Meaning they’re not committed to victory, that there are other things which take precedence?

CALLER: Absolutely, sir. And, frankly, there’s a billion Chinamen that are becoming more and more bellicose by the day, are being armed at our expense and with our expertise, and are becoming a growing threat by the day, and I —

RUSH: I wouldn’t worry about that. Obama charmed them on that trip over there. He bowed down.

CALLER: I saw that, as he bowed to their prime minister as well.

RUSH: Greg, I gotta go. I’m outta time sadly, but it’s wonderful that you got through. A Thanksgiving blessing this audience got to hear you today. Thank you, sir.

CALLER: Thank you very much, Mr. Limbaugh.

  9. Leo the Lion, handing Mr. Apuzzo a simple rebuke !

    And well said. I agree.

    http://naturalborncitizen.wordpress.com/

  10. Richard // November 26, 2009 at 10:44 am

Leo the Lion, handing Mr. Apuzzo a simple rebuke !

    And well said. I agree.

But Richard, as he so often does, “Leo the Lion” gets the law completely wrong.

But the most serious deficiency in Mr. Apuzzo’s work concerns his failure to properly quote the US Supreme Court wherein he states:

Under the standard for being an “interested person” as pronounced by Newman v. United States ex rel. Frizzell, 238 U.S. 537 (1915), in a case involving a public office one would have to have “an interest in the office itself peculiar to himself…” and be filing an action against another who allegedly usurped that office. Indeed, Newman requires that the plaintiff be “actually and personally interested” in the office and that there be another person against whom the action is brought who has unlawfully occupied the office in question. In other words, the plaintiff must himself make a claim to the office in order to qualify to bring the action.

Mr. Apuzzo has ignored the most important part of the holding in the controlling US Supreme Court case which has construed the quo warranto statute – Newman v. United States ex rel. Frizzell, 238 U.S. 537 (1915). His reporting here is blatantly mistaken. In the Newman case, the SCOTUS discussed the issue concerning who may be an “interested person” under the statute and they left a huge barn door open on this point. Please refresh your memories on this most important SCOTUS precedent:

“For in neither case is there any intent to permit the public office to be the subject matter of private litigation at the instance of one who has no interest therein which differs from that of every other member of the public. The claim that this construction makes the statute nugatory cannot be sustained, for the statute, as already pointed out, gives a person who has been unlawfully ousted before his term expired a right, on proof of interest, to the issuance of the writ, and there might be cases under the civil service law in which the relator would have an interest and therefore a right to be heard.”

It is that final line issued by the SCOTUS which provides the best possible access to the quo warranto statute and the DC District Court for review of Obama’s eligibility. As readers of this blog are fully aware, I have said over and again that somebody like former Inspector General Walpin – fired from his civil service position by Obama – would have a fair chance at qualifying as an “interested person” to make a direct attack via quo warranto upon Obama’s eligibility in the DC District Court.

Simply put, Leo is insisting, he has maintained, the person who can satisfy the ‘interest’ test to file quo warranto must either have a direct claim to the position in question OR a civil service claim. He faults Mario for failing to include that civil service alternative to interest.

But look again at what the court said.

…for the statute, as already pointed out, gives a person who has been unlawfully ousted before his term expired a right, on proof of interest, to the issuance of the writ, and there might be cases under the civil service law in which the relator would have an interest…

The court is saying, the person with interest is the person who could claim, ‘I had a right to that job but you kicked me out before my term was up'; OR MAYBE, the person who could claim, ‘I had a civil service right to the job you are currently filling (but I never received the appointment).’

The fact that IG Walpin could have a vested interest in the IG job, as a civil service appointee, has absolutely nothing to do with the job of POTUS, which does not fall within the civil service system.

    Apples and oranges. Again.

But the fact that the courts suggested a civil service claim to a job MIGHT give rise to a hearable interest is irrelev

  11. Oops again; ignore the last two lines (“But the fact that the courts suggested…”)

Appearing at a bookstore in the downtown Loop, Gore was confronted by a team of demonstrators from a grass roots group called “We Are Change,” as he was signing his latest fascist screed on the global warming swindle. The only thing I can say re: the Three Card Monte is: it reminds me of those scammers a/k/a “quick change artists”, those people who attempt to purchase a product and during the transaction-they change tactics mid-way and ask the victim to break say a $20.00 dollar bill, they confuse the victim (if they are not aware of this type of scam) and the victim gets ripped off every time. Apples to apples-oranges to oranges or one transaction at a time.
“truthbetold11, I tell people, BO and his lawyer, Bob Bauer, have already admitted to a federal court, he is not only a not an NBC but he is also not even a C! Then, I explain the information I posted in the article entitled, COUNSEL TO DNC SERVICES CORPORATION PERFORMS 3 CARD MONTE FOR FEDERAL COURT. Because the fact BO/BB asked the court to take judicial notice that BO “publicly produced a certified copy of a birth certificate showing that he was born on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu Hawaii”; but they refused to submit the actual document, evidences, he was not even born in HI!”
Juris doctor, or doctor of Jurisprudence, commonly abbreviated J.D., is the degree commonly conferred by law schools. It is required in all states except California (which includes an option called law office study) to gain Admission to the Bar. Gaining admission to the bar means obtaining a license to practice law in a particular state or in federal court.

The climatgate issue is huge due to lies, but our environment still needs to be protected. Honest Science not made up nonsense for purposes of deceiving the public.
Last night in the news Florida has a new problem other than the pythons that have invaded the Everglades (Stupid Human pet tricks). They have found that the bass are now showing both male and female organs, they are worried about the total collapse of that species. They do not know at this point what is causing the problem-among the guesses at this point-farm run-off, pesticides, pollution from industries, they were honest enough to say at this point they don’t know. The problem has been identified-cause unknown at this time, next phase seek solution.

  21. jbjd,

Thank you for your comment on the D.C. code. But in the Scotus ruling you and Leo are citing, there are 2 categories of parties which could bring a quo warranto, interested and 3rd; interested means has a claim to the office held by the plantiff against whom the quo warranto action is taken. But if it is a 3rd party injured by a person holding office, then does not that stricture you cite, not apply? Just asking your thoughts….

  22. This is a form of the monte game that jbjd-through much due diligence found. This web-site describes it much better than I could. Something to be aware of during the Christmas season.

How to Spot Quick Change Scams

Quick change scams are being pulled by individuals and teams of con artists every day. The victims are usually retail businesses with confused or disorganized cashiers. The quick change scam typically involves a con artist who confuses a cashier by paying with a large denomination bill, and then changing his mind several times about how he wants the change returned to him.
Stay focused when giving change to customers. The con artist will try to confuse you by telling you that he wants the change in a different way or that he changed his mind and wants to pay with a smaller bill instead. But this comes only after you have handed him the change for his initial payment. He confuses the cashier by keeping more money than he paid and walking out with it. Don’t give back his money, until he hands you the change you gave him. Count it before returning his bill.
No matter how many times he changes his mind, focus on collecting the customer’s money and making correct change. Keep the bill he gives you on the register in front of you. Slowly count out the change aloud as you place it into his hand. Count loudly enough so that others can see you and follow the transaction. If a coworker isn’t busy, signal her to stand near the register while you deal with the customer.

  23. CW and All, Happy Thanksgiving and say a prayer for our Nation and its TROOPS. God Bless ALL! !!! Joy

  24. Michelle

I took ms. helga suggestion , unbelievable , I knew we would be opening up a can of worms with climategate, healthgate , obamagate , etc but I’m starting to realize it’s a dumpster of worms.

    Arm and Hammer.

    Armand Hammer, Albert A. Gore.

  25. CW and folks
Have a BLESSED Thanksgiving day and the days to come. We will stand TALL.

  26. How to Spot Quick Change Scams

Scam at Walmart and reported at other retails……ALERT!!!!!!!

CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE YOU SIGN IT; THE CASHIER WILL KEY IN AN AMOUNT FOR CASH BACK AND NOT GIVE IT TO THE CARD HOLDER……LATER, AN ACCOMPLICE WILL USE THE THIEF’S REGISTER TO CHECK OUT AND THE CASH WILL BE GIVEN TO THE ACCOMPLICE.

    KEWL, HUH???

  27. WOW, I can not enjoy Thanksgiving knowing that there are those trying to destroy America.

  28. JJ-re: scam cashiers Wal-Mart, begs the question what other chains involved, how long has this be going on, amounts ? innocuous enough not to be noticed? or based on ring? I wonder how many customers must have thought that they were losing it (mentally)? Some wise guy must have thought this up and it went through the grapevine really fast. This also happened at restaurants here in Florida, this is horrible when the server scanned in the credit card, a duplicate was made and sent to be used in the criminal underground. I think they caught most of that group. People are tired, busy in a hurry and they prey/play on that weakness. Stores must wonder why some people NEVER come back, and they tell their friends not to patronize the establishment either and the owner is the last to know. Pays to be an owner and send in a friend or two to keep an eye on things from time to time.

    Happy Thanksgiving, Michelle,

    Simple solution: Pay cash!

  30. SueK-Agreed fast, simple done.
    How is cricket?

  31. Sue K- More gross. Remember a couple weeks ago-Obama by official command No Christmas we don’t celebrate it, blah blah–Now a prime time special-his numbers must really be bad.

    http://hillbuzz.org/

The “Obamamas Special” is intended to give his devoted followers a chance to celebrate, in their view, the “real reason for the season: Obama”.

  32. Sue K-CBS News is on re: the party crasher couple. The part I found interesting lying to a Secret Service Agent Federal Crime etc. How did Obama get past that one?

  33. First Black in the White House for Thanksgiving…..

Obama forgave the WH turkey. Good!

The normal tradition at the WH is to publish what the President and family are having for Thanksgiving dinner. President Bush in 2008 had a full course turkey dinner with all the trimmings… This menu was published. Great!

    But, guess what?

In 2009 at the Obama WH no menu will be released. (Course assumed to be traditional?) So, what’s the big deal about publishing a WH Thanksgiving menu. I guess it’s none of our business. By the way what do Muslims eat at Thanksgiving time?

  34. Michelle // November 26, 2009 at 6:25 pm

    Hi Michelle,

A new post is up, but I hope you see this entry.

Cricket is holding his own and got some extra carrot tops and kale. Yum!

Oh, goodie-an Obama special. I can’t wait! Devoted followers-and that would be the Muslims?

Loved the party crashers and that s*it eaten grin on Happy Joe Biden’s face! Doesn’t it just make ya feel so secure to have top-notch G-men protecting America? I know I’ll sleep better tonight.

    On to the **NEW POST**

  35. http://frontpagemag.com/2009/11/26/the-art-of-political-war-for-tea-parties-by-david-horowitz/

But when the votes were counted, all five tax-raising Initiatives had been defeated by 60% margins. Even in San Francisco. A sixth Initiative designed by tax opponents to punish legislators who do not balance the budget passed by a more than 70% margin. Even in San Francisco. If one of the most liberal states in the Union is saying no to the soak-the-public philosophy of leftwing legislators, Obama socialism is in big trouble.
The revolt in California quickly spread to the entire nation through the efforts of the Tea Parties movement, the most innovative, exciting and powerful grassroots force in the history of American conservatism. It is vital to the health of this country that the Tea Parties movement grow. More to the point: it is essential to American survival that the Tea Parties movement succeed. On the eve of the 2008 presidential election, Barack Obama said “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming America.” The Tea Parties movement is the American people saying no to Obama’s plans for revolution.
In a democracy, the cause that fires up passions is the cause of the people. That is why politicians like to run “against Washington” and against anything that represents the “powers that be.” As the left has shown, the idea of justice is a powerful motivator. It will energize the troops and fuel the campaigns that are necessary to win the political war. Conservatives believe in economic opportunity and individual freedom. The core of our ideas is freedom and justice for all. If we can make this intelligible to the American electorate, we will become the majority again and stop the socialist juggernaut that threatens our American future.

  36. Michelle & Sue—
Are you guys going to do the pig thing in
bikinis for real? There is no way I’m wearing
    one, but it sounds interesting.

  37. Michelle // November 26, 2009 at 5:55 pm

Michelle, I received an email last week informing me…….Walmart was the one mentioned……as a cashier now and in the past, I do know this is easy to do; however, you can lose your job easily if this is spotted more than once which would lead to the supervisor inquiring questions or reporting your mistakes……
which leads me to the next possibility…….is this happening as a joint effort and many are involved and splitting the profits??

Scary, huh, but the economy must be placing lots of pressure on all and cashiers have access to lots of money.

  38. WOW, Sue, could you believe the party crashers getting in? Yeh, makes me feels real secure.

My only thought was too bad it wasn’t 2 Navy Seals with their well-known abilities …

  39. Michelle // November 26, 2009 at 5:55 pm

My husband lost $300 in one of those duplicate credit card scams…..a gas station scanned his card and had the equipment underneath the counter ……those blank-type motel cards??
Noticed 3 events of $100 withdrawal on our account and after almost getting a divorce over it, saw the news broadcast explaining how it was done weeks later and they busted that ring of criminals in Nashville……..taught us a lesson…….watch who handles your card carefully.

  40. Tea Partiers rally in downtown St. Louis……..

A downtown rally drew a crowd Saturday to Kiener Plaza in downtown St. Louis. While many were holiday shopping, members of the Tea Party Coalition gathered to send a message to Washington, D.C. News 4’s Ray Preston reports.

  41. Hi Maddie,

Four days ago Russia announced it was adding Canadian dollars to its currency to reduce its dependence on the U.S. dollar. So it”s not a conversion, as much as an avoidance of the U.S. dollar.
