My colleague Ken Vogel emails that the reports today that Obama has opted out of public financing aren’t quite right.
Vogel writes:
Contrary to media reports today, Sen. Barack Obama is trying to leave open the option of accepting public financing for his expected presidential bid.
Obama, D-Ill., last week asked the Federal Election Commission whether he could raise contributions that would disqualify him from receiving public financing, but return them later if he decided he wanted to receive taxpayer money for his campaign.
Obama’s question, tendered in the form of a request for an advisory opinion, is a new one for the Commission, which is expected to post the request on its Web site Wednesday afternoon. (UPDATE: Here it is now(.pdf).)
The request lays out the following scenario: Obama’s campaign would accept contributions for both the primary and general elections, but then return the general election contributions later if the Republican nominee agreed to accept public financing. The public financing system provides taxpayer dollars to candidates who abide by restrictions on how much they can raise.”

In November 2007, Obama answered “Yes” to Common Cause when asked “If you are nominated for President in 2008 and your major opponents agree to forgo private funding in the general election campaign, will you participate in the presidential public financing system?”
Obama wrote:

The Obama campaign disputes this. Obama campaign counsel Bob Bauer met with McCain campaign counsel Trevor Potter and, according to Obama spox Bill Burton, Potter “immediately made it clear there was no basis for further discussion,” that they weren’t interested in any sort of agreement.”

Not difficult to understand the question(s). The release of such records will clearly tell the story and certainly dispel the White House B.S.
Amazingly, it Obama were applying for a job at Amazon as a warehouse supervisor, he would be required to sign a wavier to release all his college records to the company. Good thing he only applied for the Job of President of the United States of America with access to America’s top secret technology and dealing with Nuclear weapons. Sure would hate Obama to have to expose his records for a warehouse job and listen to the reasons why he should not comply.

‘Legislative prayer’ is what courts call the tradition of legislative bodies (Congress, state legislators, town councils, etc.) beginning their meetings with an invocation.
Last year, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit held that when pastors and priests offer such prayers, it’s okay to mention the name of Jesus Christ once or maybe twice.
But if Jesus’ name is mentioned frequently, or if the prayer includes statements of Christian beliefs (such as the forgiveness of sins, Jesus’ resurrection, or Jesus as the Son of God), then the prayer violates the Establishment Clause of the Constitution, and must be banned.

Papoose, If you accept matching funds you must be eligible for the office being sought, and they would have to open their “books” for audit. Obama doesn’t qualify for office ,and foreign campaign contributions would be disclosed, which is illegal, at least for republicans.

In other words, the Judge in the Arizona case has absolutely no Constitutional jurisdiction over the matter upon which she ruled. As the Constitution makes abundantly clear, only the U.S. Supreme Court can issue rulings that involve a state

It is a hard truth to accept, but I believe it, Old Salt. There is just no other way to explain what is going on in the judicial system. Well, when we realize that the highest justice department in the country, the DOJ, is so corrupt, that explains much. Furthermore, little by little the courts have been packed with liberal judges.
Is it little wonder that the DOJ is trying to drive our Sheriff Arpaio from office? He’s in for one terrible battle. If anyone can handle it, he can, but there is just so much that one person can take.

Brewer about her seeking FIRST judicial relief from the Supreme Court instead of going to a lower federal court. I never heard any response – But what am I supposed to know? Have you ever seen anything like it??? We now have a couple of weak voices whispering out there “Obama should have been better vetted” and when you offer them the very evidence they’d prefer to trip over it while indirectly aiding the criminal activity that it all points to….and that includes Palin, Limbaugh and all those trying to convince everyone they are THE foundation of what “conservative” means. ESPN first reported Wednesday that Tebow got hurt on a third-quarter tackle, then had trouble sleeping because of the pain and underwent an MRI on his chest Monday.
Team spokesman Patrick Smyth said that while he couldn’t confirm the exact extent or nature of the injuries due to team policy, he acknowledged that Tebow finished the game in considerable pain.
Backup Brady Quinn quickly got ready to go into the game after Tebow was hit by Vince Wilfork and Rob Ninkovich, but Tebow stayed in and finished up.
“It’s just the physicality of playing football. Sometimes you get hit and it can hurt a little bit. But, I wanted to play a lot of the game,” Tebow said after the game.

This Saturday will be the most important primary vote of the year. Either conservatives and Tea Party members unite to stop Mitt Romney or we see a repeat of 2008, with a liberal Republican going up against Barack Obama.
The conservative movement is split between three candidates, Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum.
I am calling on conservatives and members of the Tea Party movement to unite behind Newt Gingrich in South Carolina so that we can stop Mitt Romney.
If we are going to see a conservative agenda advanced, we need a conservative candidate to do it and the only remaining candidate that can do it is Newt Gingrich.
I like Rick Perry. If Newt were not in the race, I would be behind Perry. But Perry’s campaign is on its last legs. Nationally Perry is at only 7% and is less than that in South Carolina. After the primary vote on Saturday, Perry’s campaign will more than likely end.
Rick Santorum is polling well but he has problems. Since he focused so intensely on Iowa, he does not have campaign infrastructure in many states. In fact, there are a number of states where he will not even appear on the ballot. In other states, like my home state of Tennessee, his name will appear but he has no delegates who have qualified for the ballot. What that means is that even if Santorum were to win Tennessee, he would get no delegates for the convention.

Zach, I like Newt too. My two favorite are Newt and Santorum. I think Newt would be the best to debate Obama. People seem to think Perry will drop out soon. Ron Paul really should drop out soon too as most of his support is from the fringe far right, the fringe far left and independents. But he has too big of an ego to drop out. However, if Ron Paul dropped out, people would see the real choice would be Mitt, Newt and Santorum.

I unblocked my site a little while ago. And it looks like bill sponsors are backing down. These bills were couched as protecting copyright infringement. But, practically speaking, under the proposed legislation, a private company, including a competitor of a site, could accuse that site of posting in violation of copyright. In other words, a hosting site like WordPress could have a blogger who is charged with violating copyright. And, based on this charge, the WordPress server would have to block that blog; and/or get blocked, pending a full investigation.
But worse; this means, the government can charge copyright infringement; and shut down sites. (Does anyone think these shutdowns would not be ‘point of view’ based?)

I saw an interview with her about a year ago. She sounded like the typical “ex” and is probably being paid a ton of money. This is so like the media don’t you think. Gee, I wonder why the NYT never printed the story from the acorn whistleblower, Anita (can’t remember her last name). The times wouldn’t print it because they said it would be a game changer. Also, what about the story from the LA times that they never printed along with pictures of Obama and Rashid Khalidi at his going away party..

Although we disagree 100 percent with Michael Jablonski(Obama atty) on his political arguments, the legal argument with respect to the administrative subpoenas having only limited powers and only within the State of Georgia is correct. I don’t have an opposition yet. However, I am posting below my reply to opposition to reciprocal subpoena enforcement, which I was forced to write at night before 01.13.2012 hearing in Hi, when I was ambushed by Nagamine with the opposition to subpoena enforcement in HI, which I got only at 11 pm at night before the hearing in the morning. that was the reason, I had to read from my laptop, I did not even have an opportunity to print it out. To a great extend this reply answers issues raised in by Obama in his motion to quash. In a nut shell:
1. most of his motion is a total BS, irrelevant material, improper attacks on plaintiff’s counsel with an attempt to prejudice the court
2. Obama has no standing to challenge subpoenas issued and addressed to other parties. If other parties want to challenge, it is up to them. It is interesting that he mentions Susan Daniels, John Smpson and Loretta Fuddy, I wonder why? Is there something in their testimony he does not want to be heard by the judge?
3. there is nothing in subpoena issued to him, that is improper or oppressive
4. he was properly served through his attorney in Atlanta GA, within the jurisdiction

PS I wanted to thank everybody who donated for my new laptop, which came in handy after my old laptop mysteriously disappeared during my prior trip to HI. It might be a coincidence, but right before I got this motion to quash from Obama, I got a letter from the Inspector General, which was not a motion to quash and I got a phone call from TSA, saying that they are looking for my lap top but did not find it yet. I, also wanted to thank people, who are donating for this hearing. I just got an e-mail from my credit card, saying that I maxed out with over $8,500 in charges as I had to pay for airfare, hotel accommodations for a lot of people, I am paying another attorney to help me, so donations are appreciated

Whenever we start talking about a candidate’s infidelity perhaps it would be wise to first consider the WELL KNOWN ERRANT behavior of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, John Fitzgerald Kennedy,……….and of course the ALLEGED HOMOSEXUAL ACTS of our ALLEGED POTUS himself.
