Florida military absentee ballot not counted, Non matching signature most common reason, Marine recruit Wesley Layman Clemons disenfranchised, FL election controversies

“Late last night Congressman West maintained a district wide lead of nearly 2000 votes until the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections “recounted” thousands of early ballots. Following that “recount” Congressman West trailed by 2,400 votes. In addition, there were numerous other disturbing irregularities reported at polls across St. Lucie County including the doors to polling places being locked when the polls closed in direct violation of Florida law, thereby preventing the public from witnessing the procedures used to tabulate results. The St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections office clearly ignored proper rules and procedures, and the scene at the Supervisor’s office last night could only be described as complete chaos. Given the hostility and demonstrated incompetence of the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections, we believe it is critical that a full hand recount of the ballots take place in St. Lucie County. We will continue to fight to ensure every vote is counted properly and fairly, and accordingly we will pursue all legal means necessary.”…Allen West campaign

“Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.”…George Orwell, “1984″

“It’s not who votes that counts, it’s who counts the votes”…Joseph Stalin

The 2012 Florida presidential election was very close. So was Allen West’s congressional race.

The known issues in the Florida elections should be reason enough for a recount and investigation.

Documented voter fraud, sloppy precinct operations, violation of rules, hundreds of ballots found in a warehouse, over 800,000 undocumented aliens and realistic cause for concern about absentee military ballots.

From the Orlando Sentinel December 11, 2012.

“1,400 absentee ballots rejected for bad signatures in Central Florida”

“Marine recruit Wesley Layman Clemons thought he’d done everything possible to vote while he was in training at U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in South Carolina this fall. He requested an Orange County absentee ballot, filled it out, signed it, sealed it, stamped it and mailed it.

Tuesday, he found out from a reporter that his ballot was thrown out — and his vote didn’t count in the Nov. 6 election. The reason: His signature on the ballot didn’t match an earlier one that was on file in the election office, a problem that caused more than 1,400 ballots to be rejected across Central Florida this fall.

“I did my so-called patriotic duty and voted, but apparently someone didn’t think it was a legitimate vote … ,” said Clemons, who is 23 and returned to Orlando last month after a medical discharge. “I’m just ready to toss this phone through the freakin’ window. …”

Clemons said his signature has never changed, and he’s stumped as to why the county’s canvassing board would think otherwise. But it’s too late to do anything about it.

He’s one of 603 Orange County voters whose absentee ballots were rejected by the three-member canvassing board in the Nov. 6 election because of non-matching signatures. Another 579 absentee signatures were rejected in Seminole County, 159 in Osceola County and 142 in Lake County.

A non-matching signature was by far the most common reason for absentee ballot rejection, say Central Florida election officials. The next most common: the failure to sign the ballot at all, which disqualified 672 more ballots in the four counties.

Though the numbers of rejected signatures are relatively small — the four counties received more than 246,000 absentee ballots for the November election, a record — the rejection rate here and elsewhere has climbed dramatically since new statewide rules regarding absentee-ballot signatures were approved by the Florida Legislature in 2011.

Those rules require elections officials to compare absentee-ballot signatures only to signatures on voter-registration applications, which could be decades old. Previously, elections officials could turn to other documents such as the precinct logs that voters sign each time they vote in person, which likely are far more current.

Elections officials insist close calls are not rejected. They must be “clearly, clearly, clearly different,” said Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Mike Ertel, who also sat on his county’s canvassing board.

“You could tell when people were just getting fancy” with their signature, said Orange County Canvassing Board member Tiffany Moore Russell, a county commissioner. “But the majority were just obvious.”

In 2008, the last time there was a presidential election, Orange’s canvassing board rejected 15 out of every 10,000 signatures. This year, the rate tripled — to 44 out of every 10,000. Seminole’s board rejected 65 out of every 10,000 in 2008 and 110 out of 10,000 this year.

Osceola and Lake counties’ 2008 rejection rates were not available. But Lake’s 2012 absentee-ballot signature rejection rate doubled its rate in the 2010 state election, and Osceola’s tripled.

Depending on where the voters lived, their rejected votes could have made a difference. In the Orange County Commission District 3 race, Pete Clarke beat Lui Damiani by 70 votes. In the Florida House of Representatives race in Seminole County, Mike Clelland defeated Chris Dorworth by 146 votes.

Moore Russell, a Democrat, said she didn’t see any problem that needed a fix by lawmakers.

“People didn’t update their signature,” Moore Russell said. “At the end of the day, there has to be some responsibility on that voter to update their signatures. You can’t legislate responsibility.”

Philip Kobrin, for one, doesn’t disagree. Kobrin, 76 and retired, of Winter Park, said he went down to the elections office to check after he was informed his absentee ballot was rejected. He realized then that he had signed his voter-registration application with his usual stylized script and his absentee ballot with careful lettering so that it would be legible.

“I must take half the blame for myself,” Kobrin said. “When they showed it to me, I wasn’t happy about it, but they had a legitimate beef.”

After the new law passed, elections officials in many counties tried hard to contact voters and ask them to renew their signatures. Orange County Supervisor of Elections Bill Cowles sent notices last spring to 214,000 absentee and longtime voters urging them to do so. Though some voters protested, thinking he was demanding new proof of their eligibility, 55,000 voters renewed their signatures, Cowles said.

But it was not enough.

Audrey McWhite said her elderly mother, Elizabeth, has suffered a trio of strokes, two this year. The last one disabled her right side. Elizabeth McWhite’s Nov. 6 ballot was rejected, according to Orange elections officials.

“That’s why her signature is off,” Audrey McWhite said. “They should call and find out and not just reject it like that.””

    Jewish World Review reported:

Barack Obama says he’s a Christian. Good for him (and for the Gospel). But rarely has a Christian paid such obeisance to another faith and ideology. The president’s bow and scrape to Islam knows no end. That’s not so good.

The U.S. Army is soon to issue a handbook instructing soldiers to copy Mr. Obama’s example of when and how to defer to an alien ideology that stands against everything Americans are taught, whether by faith, ethics, morals or another code of good conduct.

The new manual, which runs to 75 pages, orders American military personnel to refrain from saying anything to offend the Taliban in Afghanistan, to be careful not to criticize the practice of sexual relations with children, the abuse of women, beheadings, massacres of girls and the killing of “unbelievers” and Muslims who Taliban enforcers regard as insufficiently devout in the faith. Holding to what they have been taught, whether at Sunday school or a mother’s knee, is presumably OK for American soldiers, at least for now. But they must keep such ideas to themselves.

The manual, issued in the name of the U.S. Government, obviously at the command of the commander in chief, suggests that Western ignorance and arrogance and not the Taliban are responsible for the surge in deadly attacks by Afghan soldiers against the soldiers of the allied coalition.

U.S. troops should prepare for “psychologically challenging conditions” inAfghanistan, and be prepared for “stressors” that some American soldiers have remarked from previous deployments, such as finding Afghan security forces “profoundly dishonest and [having] no personal integrity,” and “gutless in combat,” and “ignorant and basically stupid.”

  5. A very interesting “prophecy” by Michael Savage last night. I do patrol work for a private security company in a residential area. So, working a swing shift I sometimes listen to the radio while driving around–usually classical music, but sometimes talk shows.

I don’t often listen to Savage because his blow-hard egotism is a bit tough to abide. But at times he says things and articulates things that no one else will say or even consider. When he is “on his game,” he really hits the nail on the head. (When he’s not, just a lot of hot air like a good number of other radio talk shows).

Last night a fellow called in, apparently considering leaving the country because of the madness of having the Obama Administration running things into the ground. Savage said not to do that. He said that he, himself, had the means to live elsewhere, but no, he is going to fight even harder. Then he said something that sounded prophetic, like a Greater Source was speaking through him: “The Obama Administration is going to implode and soon. Obama, because of his arrogancy and lack of experience, is going to over-reach. And when he does, his whole administration is going implode.” (The quote may not be exact, but as close as I can recall it.)

When he said that, it sounded prophetic. It also matches with what I’ve seen in the Torah Code. To me it had seemed from the code that December 10th would be significant, but that day came and went. So the exact time frame is hard to pin down. The Event, however, of his removal, seems quite evident.

  6. observer — G.I.s will never comply with the handbook that Jewish World Review reported on. It just will never happen. In fact, it will probably have the opposite effect. The slang will increase and Obama will be seen as an even bigger fool. I’m sure they have words for him, too.

We owe our troops true and loyal leadership in the White House. That is why the imposter in the White House needs to be removed ASAP!

By the way, thanks for your informative posts here. Almost don’t have to check the news–can just come to this blog and see what observer has posted. You really zoom in on the significant stuff.

  7. I guess when you’ve completely sold your soul to the devil, father of lies, this is what is expected….whenever this regime points any finger at anyone it is obvious they have those 3 pointing back at no one but themselves. Guess this is why there were zero votes for Romney in Philly!!:

Mooch: Republicans Tried To Steal Election, “Voter Suppression Was In Full Force In So Many States All Over This Country”…

“People have to stay focused on what’s going on, because it’s easy to get confused in all the back and forth that goes on, and there’s a whole lot of not-truth telling going on, if you know what I mean,” Michelle said during a radio appearance on the The Tom Joyner Show.

Mrs. Obama also charged that voter suppression during the 2012 election was widespread.

Michelle said Republicans sought to win the election by spending “unprecedented amounts of money,” running negative advertising, and committing voter suppression.

“Voter suppression was in full force in so many states all over this country,” Mrs. Obama said.

  8. Some military slang: I got out of the Army around the time of the first Gulf War under the first President Bush. Okay, some slang designations: Navy – Squids. Army – Grunts. Marines – Jar Heads. Air Force – Zoomies. These are just a few of the expressions among ourselves. As to the Arabs? I heard, “Rag Heads,” “Camel Jockeys,” and “Sand Niggers,” to name a few. There were expressions like, “Let’s bomb them back to the Stone Age. That should set them back a few weeks.”

A stupid handbook isn’t going to stop anything. It will just harden attitudes and drive it further underground, creating resistance. The hard reality of war leads to swearing and slang, which is the least of our problems.

Awesome: Cardinal Dolan Rips The NY Times For Pro-Obama, Anti-Catholic Bias…

NEW YORK, December 13, 2012, (LSN) – Last week the New York Archdiocese scored a significant victory against the Obama administration’s HHS birth control mandate—but you wouldn’t know that if you read or watch the mainstream media, according to New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan.

“Did you hear about the decision last week?” asks Cardinal Dolan in a column released today. “You probably did not, as there seems to have been virtually no mention of the decision – in favor of the archdiocese, by the way – in any local newspaper or on television.”

Dolan singled out the New York Times, pointing out that while the Grey Lady had nothing to say about the archdiocese’s victory, it “couldn’t wait to publish an editorial this past October, admonishing the bishops, when a federal judge in Missouri found for the administration and dismissed a similar case brought by a private, for-profit, mining company.”

“The Times also didn’t have much to say last week, when the appeals court temporarily blocked the bad Missouri decision the Times had gushed over,” Dolan added.

In a strongly worded judgment last week, U.S. District Court Judge Brian M. Cogan had ruled that the Archdiocese of New York’s lawsuit against the HHS mandate may proceed.

  10. You have to wonder who’s watching the watchers. I guess there are no “pathologically extremist” secular groups to also be watched! Nice how they lump everybody in with the truly violent kooks obviouslyso they won’t offend the ones who WOULD fight back:

France devises plan to treat ‘religious pathology’

    http://www.worldmag.com/2012/12/france_devises_plan_to_treat_religious_pathology

    ……
In addition to Civitas, Valls listed Christian and Muslim creationists in America, radical Islamists, ultra-traditionalist Catholics and ultra-Orthodox Jews as examples of religious extremists.

The policy will allow authorities to monitor certain groups and label some as sectarian. Members of groups labeled as extremist and sectarian could face prosecution and deportation.

The move to entrench secularism in French culture also will reach into the schools. Education Minister Vincent Peillon told the conference the classes would stress the French values of equality and fraternity.

  11. observer – I saw one Liberal blog that was trying to assert the opposite of my point concerning the House of Representatives. I pointed out that Republicans taking the House meant the popular vote went Republican. The election was obviously stolen because every Representative has to run every 2 years. The Senate, a much smaller body, is staggered. Senators run every 6 years, so only a third of them is up for re-election at a time. The Presidency is only one. So what is easier to fix? 435 seats, 33 seats, or 1 seat? Obviously 1 is easier to fix than 435.

This Liberal blogger, however, said there was no way the Republicans could have taken the House in this election since Obama won the Presidency. My point, exactly, only in reverse. This Liberal idiot was trying to say Republicans had to have rigged the House vote. What a moron! But he is right in reverse. The same people who elected a Republican House would have elected a Republican President.

Jordan’s King Abdullah Threatens to Shut Down Egypt’s Economy

The Muslim Brotherhood has targeted Jordan’s monarchy as the next domino to fall after Egypt. At the Dec. 10 meeting, King Abdullah accused Egypt of economic sabotage..The Jordanian monarch warned that his country would retaliate:
    ……….
King Abdullah II said that “Amman has bargaining chips through which it can send messages to Cairo,

The King will be next, and since he wants backing from the Saudis, that King will more than likely fall prey to the Muzzies as well.

I believe it was yesterday when Fox showed a map of the Mid-East with markings as to all of the countries in turmoil. Very scary indeed and primarily the result of the twisted, crazy foreign policies of one man and his cohorts. He won’t be happy until the entire area is aflame and under the control of radical Islam. 17. Hi All………………….
I would ordinarily be offering my take on the thread, but this morning I found myself in tears, and my guts nearly torn out by the BASTARD who MURDERED 20 children, his OWN PARENTS, and a number of others totalling 27 so far. This was so unnecessary, so absurd, and had to have been perpetrated by somebody with a unbelievable level of HATRED,and ANGER pent up inside of him. This tells me that there is some really bad stuff going on with our young people. So many of them can no longer discern UP FROM DOWN,and as a result we see this sort of action taken by an IMBECILE. I am still choked up …..these were youngsters, barely started in their lives…..THIS WAS ALL SO DAMNED UNNECESSARY,AND OTHERWISE COMPLETE INSANITY! WE REALLY NEED TO FIND THESE PEOPLE BEFORE THEY CAN DO SUCH STUFF.

  18. Mr. Bill(ms. helga)

Sorrowfully something had to give and it did today in Newtown, Ct.
God Bless the victims and survivors.

  19. Hi OldSailor,

As always, I share your sentiments regarding this horrific events perpetrated by a lunatic.

I don’t particularly care if he wanted to take himself out; by all means, go right ahead but don’t take anyone else with you!!!

I assessed the Newtown Municipal Landfill (now a transfer station) back in the late 1980s in order to place the site on the EPA’s Superfund list for hazardous waste cleanup. I know the town well and met a lot of its wonderful residents. My heart breaks for them.

All we can do is pray…

  20. Governor Huckabee just made a very rationale statement on FOX. He said “MAYBE THIS ALL COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED HAD SOMEBODY ALLOWED GOD IN AT THE FRONT DOOR INSTEAD OF RECEIVING HIM AT THE BACKDOOR.” GREAT OBSERVATION MR .HUCKABEE….I COULDN’T AGREE MORE! i AM STILL HURTING LIKE HELL INSIDE OF ME. This was all so damned ABSURD. Why do this to tiny children, what the hell is inside of the perpetrator’s imbecilic mind? My prayers are ongoing for all who were effected by the NUT CASE. HELL,HE EVEN DROVE HIS MOTHER’S CAR TO THE SCENE.

  21. THIS IDIOTIC MURDER OF INNOCENT TINY CHILDREN HAS REALLY GOTTEN TO ME. I CAN’T EVEN THINK STRAIGHT THIS AFTERNOON……THE PARENTS OF THESE TINY YOUNGSTERS ARE NOW GOING THROUGH HELL……..JUST BECAUSE SOME LITTLE HORSE’S ASS COULDN’T HANDLE A PROBLEM. YEAH I’M SICK AT HEART AND DAMNED POd.

  22. Thornton Parsons

Old Sailor, All, I do agree that something has to be done for the youth of our country before they get to the point of committing heinous acts. I’m still in shock of all of those babies, who hurt no one, being murdered this Christmas season. I can’t help but think that all of the shootings that are taking place are in states with the strictest gun control laws in pervasive nanny states. Gun control is not what’s needed. The moral fabric of our nation is ripped and shredded and today’s youth do not have the benefit of structure and values in their lives, as we did. It’s all so needless; it’s all so heartbreaking.

  23. What sort of little creep drives his mother’s car to the place where he is going to murder kindergartners. I believe that only a really SICK LITTLE CREEP would do that.

  24. Thornton Parsons……….
I believe that Huckabee came the closest so far to identifying one of the culprits. He said this morning “Perhaps all of this could have been avoided had God been admitted at the front door, instead of the back door.” I couldn’t agree more!

  25. BYE BYE ALL, I have tolie down and let it all out……this has sickened me to unbelieveable depths.

  26. Thornton Parsons

Yes, Old Sailor, Gov. Huckabee hit the nail right on the head. What can we expect from a society where the f-word is permitted, but the G-word is forbidden? Things like this, I suppose. Life hasn’t been the same since God got kicked out of school. He needs to be invited back . . . and soon.

  27. Interested Bystander

    Hey All,

I hear all over the news that this gunman had some kind of mental disorder:

    YA THINK????

May the Good Lord place his hand on the shoulder’s of each of those affected by this terrible incident, and give them the strength to endure the Holidays and after. We all know the pain of a loss, but the loss of someone with their whole lives ahead of them is even more unfathomable.

  28. Just as predicted the liberal reporting of this vile diabolical act of killing “babies” in VT is mostly concentrating on the use of guns. Their use of personal stories is for this purpose alone. They are sooo upset that now such very young children are being slaughtered.
This was a determined act to kill innocents…no matter the reason. If I may, I do have to make a connection about any similar reporting on the thousands of the most vulnerable tiny humans being slaughtered daily also in a determined manner as sadly MIA while good citizens are even forced to pay for the blood of those innocents. Because of this lack of same serious attention, life at its most innocent is cheapened daily. And this daily slaughter is so determined that in any instances of survival of the intended dead there is the follow-up determination to make sure the deadly deed is completed. THIS slaughter is wholeheartedly backed by the favorite ONE of these now, suddenly hysterical reporters. Such irresponsible and inhuman ideological mental illness is the foundation for our now schizophrenic and diabolical culture in this country….mentally and morally disconnected people reporting on only their “favored” choice of vulnerable victims of our culture of death. Somehow though I doubt if the leftist/progressive agenda would even permit concern if these millions were killed with guns instead of burning/poison/ripping.

  29. I feel so sorry for the little ones that were taken away from their families. Now the gun control starts. It seems when Obama gets hammered something happens to knock it off the front page. How sad.

  30. Observer (5:51 pm)

    ********************************************
That is so true! We have developed a culture of death in this country and there is little, if anything, to stop it. Our young people and others have become calloused and desensitized and will continue to be so unless there is a massive spiritual awakening. We have sown to the wind and are now reaping the whirlwind as a nation.

Furthermore, we as a nation kicked God out of the classroom in the 60’s. He will not be mocked, so what else can we expect? It is only getting worse with the secularism of our society. I fear that our fall will be worse than that of other nations, because our country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and we have been more enlightened. To whom much is given, much will be required.

  31. with regard to today’s shootings in Conn…
It would appear, as anticipated, that a knee jerk reaction by politicians, will be coming, to demonize and politicize guns. While it is common knowledge that they (politicians) as a group, have little or no education concerning the Constitution…or guns…it might be well to mention additionally, that guns did not kill these innocents in Connecticut……our steadily-declining culture did.
We stand by and continue to tolerate the general abuse of ‘our’ society by the “constitutionally protected” members of the various media which bombard us 24-7 with the perverted products of their idea of what constitutes “entertainment”, or even more rediculously, “art”……
While it is admittedly my own opinion, the constant reinforcement (via the media) i.e., movies, war footage, you tube, and video games, of the use of violence to solve problems, is producing a culture which is hopelessly tied to a genre of weapons usage generally.
In decades previous, when we had far less intrusive media, our society, even to include the mentally ill, saw vastly less in the way of this type of violent behavior. There were a LOT of guns around then too, but the parameters of good and evil were far more well- defined. We, as a culture in those times, were not so deluded as to question what would happen should we expose our youth to the more degenerate realities of society. You would think it would just be common sense, but I guess that would be asking too much by way of tempering what we take in daily in the most graphic of perversions….

  32. Re, shooting,
This failure of a human being, has been taught to blame his failure in life on the people he killed, instead of excepting responsibility for his own failed life. Typical loser.

I wouldn’t rule out involvement by the anti gun crowd either, the more horrific the details, the closer they get to a gun control measure, chipping away at that what protects us, the second amendment.
